Fiery sunset over the Pacific seen from Casa de Mango

Litibú · Nayarit · México

A yellow villa
on a jungle hillside.

Twenty minutes from Puerto Vallarta airport. Mountains on one side, the Pacific on the other, and a mile of private beach at the foot of the hill.

The house

An hectare of jungle, painted mango yellow.

Casa de Mango sits on a full hectare above the Pacific in the Canadian expat pocket of Litibú. Two floors, four bedrooms, an Olympic-sized pool, banana trees, and a garden so green it hums. Rent the whole villa, or just the upper or lower unit.

The beach

A mile of sand at the foot of the hill.

Down a short jungle path from the villa, the coast opens into a wide, quiet stretch of Pacific — good for long walks at low tide, longboarding at dawn, and doing absolutely nothing under a palm at three in the afternoon.

Arrival

Land in Puerto Vallarta. We take it from there.

We meet you curbside at PVR with an air-conditioned car and the villa's keys. The drive up to Litibú is about twenty minutes along the coast — enough time to swap flight stories and point out the surf breaks before we pull off for the grocery run.

On the way in

Stock the kitchen at La Comer.

PVR airport to the villa is a twenty-minute drive through the hills, and there's nothing much to eat once you're up here. On the way in, we stop at La Comer — the good grocery store — so you can load up on fresh fish, produce, wine, cheese, tortillas and whatever else you'll want in the fridge for the week.

Cook it yourself in the villa's full kitchen, or add our in-house cook for $100/day and let Rubina turn the market run into breakfast, lunch and dinner.
